While NBA fans in the USA may sincerely be missing their favorite sport, six lucky cities will be hosting some of the NBA's biggest stars as they embark on a worldwide basketball exhibition. Spanning four continents, 18 players will be taking part in the tour which will undoubtedly raise basketballs standing around the world. With the NBA lockout not nearing an end any time soon, players have been participating in exhibition games around the country to keep their legs fresh and talent levels high. A few weeks ago LeBron James and Dwayne Wade put together a wildly successful friendly game at FIU with other NBA players, and with the recognition and talent that the NBA world tour is receiving, it is likely that it will be even more successful.
Most of the players participating will be making between six-figures and $1 Million to join the tour, with most of the proceeds going to charity. The tour, dubbed the "World All-Star Classic" was put together by Atlanta businessman Calvin Darden who sits on boards for Target, Coca-Cola, and Cardinal Health. The players are currently tentative, but Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Dwayne Wade, and Kevin Durant are already confirmed. An all-star cast starting with those four will undoubtedly create a huge buzz in the six cities where the tour is traveling and should guarantee success, and for a good cause.
